Solar Construction Site Superintendent, Solar EPC – New Jersey

Well reputed in the industry, the company has completed over 100 commercial projects across MD, NJ, NY, and Washington DC and beyond.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Solar Construction Superintendent to manage solar energy project sites across New Jersey. The Superintendent will work closely with General Contractors (GC), subcontractors, and Project Managers (PM) to ensure that solar installations are completed on time and according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy projects, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of project delivery, including scheduling, quality control, and team coordination.

This is a newly created position within an expanding team due to a robust slate of formally awarded projects and strong pipeline of additional projects. As such, the ideal candidate is experienced, energetic, confident, and ready to hit the ground running.

Job location: On site daily, multiple sites throughout New Jersey, generally 7 am – 3 pm

Reporting to: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of solar construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and solar energy regulations.
  • Act as the on-site representative for the General Contractor, ensuring that all subcontractors are working efficiently and adhering to solar project timelines and guidelines.
  • Report regularly to the Project Manager on progress, potential issues, and updates, helping resolve any site-specific challenges.
  • Manage the logistics of materials and equipment deliveries to the site, ensuring timely availability for the completion of solar installations.
  • Address any field-specific cultural or communication issues that may arise, fostering a productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all scheduling requirements and perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) inspections.
  • Maintain effective communication with the entire on-site team, ensuring that all instructions and project goals are clear and achievable.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 3 years in solar project management or similar renewable energy roles.
  • Strong understanding of solar energy systems, installation processes, and relevant safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, and other team members.
  • Proven experience in scheduling, QA/QC, and managing on-site teams to deliver solar projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to lead and mentor other site managers and ensure cohesive project delivery.
