Interconnection Manager for Solar Developer – Connecticut

Position Overview:

The Interconnection Manager/Engineer is responsible for supporting solar power plant and BESS interconnection and transmission planning related activities for utility-scale solar.

Job location: Hybrid with 1-2 days weekly in the HQ in Stamford, CT. Could transition to fully remote for a mature, reliable, candidate.

Reporting to: VP of Interconnection

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the generation interconnection process for utility scale solar and energy storage projects, including pre-application feasibility analysis, interconnection application submission, interconnection study and agreement process, construction milestone management, and interconnection invoice payment tracking
  • Prospect optimal points of interconnection based on market research and technical analyses
  • Review and verify interconnection study results
  • Coordinate with Land Acquisition, Engineering, Permitting, EPC, and Operations teams to develop a strong pipeline of solar and energy storage projects
  • Provide technical support for project acquisition activities
  • Participate in RTO/ISO Generation Interconnection and other stakeholder forums and inform executive management of industry changes and trends
  • Manage consultant and other service provider activities
  • Manage interconnection project accounts
  • Work with the substation team in cases where a new substation is required or expansion of an existing facility

Requirements:

  • B.S. or equivalent in electrical engineering
  • Strong experience with power flow studies
  • 5+ years of interconnection-related work experience
  • Willing to travel 10-20% in the USA

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of TARA
  • PJM interconnection experience as the vast majority of projects are in this territory
