Law Firm Partner or Junior Partner, Remote

Employer Overview:

Our client, the employer, is a boutique law firm specializing in renewable energy and clean technology.  Different from other law firms, the whole team works remote full time.  Each attorney is responsible for servicing his or her clients according to their own clients’ needs and schedules.  Thus, the firm prioritizes hiring employees who demonstrate professionalism, independence, and integrity.  Although all employees work remote, there is a high level of collaboration as each attorney has different areas of strength and team members work together to service their clients throughout the lifecycle of their projects or portfolios.

Position Overview:

The Junior Partner/Partner will bring and/or develop a book of business with clients in renewable energy, clean technology, carbon capture, or other related lines of business.

Typical legal advisory that falls within the firm’s wheelhouse includes renewable energy reviews or structuring of:

  • Land purchase or lease agreements
  • MOUs and NDAs
  • EPC contracts
  • M&A agreements
  • Project finance
  • PPAs
  • Legal due diligence
  • IP
  • Force majeure declarations
  • Government incentive programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft complex commercial agreements on behalf of clients
  • Provide clients with legal opinions and solutions
  • Research and keep abreast of policy, regulatory, and legal changes regarding renewable energy investment, development, construction, and operations
  • Help clients to acquire permits for alternative energy projects
  • Negotiate PPAs
  • Manage financial transactions with PE or VC investors

Requirements:

  • Book of business commensurate with level of role applying to (Junior Partner vs Partner)
  • Junior Partner will likely need a book of $1M USD+
